Coach,
I wanted to reach out to you and say thanks for all of the effort that was put into getting another class added to Basketball. Although this is not a perfect fit for everyone it is a step in the right direction for our sport. We have worked endlessly at the request of our coaches for well over a decade to make this happen.
This note came from Board of Control Member and former Basketball Coach Dexter Williams:
“I would like to thank the Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee (BCAT) for taking the time to provide some very important information and feedback from the basketball coaches across the state. that information was very helpful in making the decision to add an additional class in basketball.”

Director west Carroll SSD
What the BCAT recommended to the TSSAA was exactly what our coaches submitted on the survey we sent out a few days ago.
I have attached the questions with the responses in percentages. We had just over 470 head coaches respond.
If you did not respond, we simply ask that you please get involved with the BCAT because we need your help. Also, please know that this classification is on a two year cycle and will be revisited during or after the 22-23 school year and there is a good possibility it will be tweaked. The BCAT will continue to work for our schools, coaches, and players to make basketball better for all. Please renew your membership for the 2020-21 school year by going to www.bcathoops.com. thanks for all that you do.
